Some 90 Day Fiancé cast members have grown up, but other franchise stars went on to disappoint viewers by never evolving or showing personal growth.

Many reality TV viewers enjoy a good redemption story, but 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans have been disappointed by some cast members who have demonstrated a surprising lack of growth and maturity. Franchise fans have seen a number of chaotic couples settle down and have stable and healthy relationships due to their determination to mature and make their relationships work. On the other hand, some 90 Day Fiancé franchise cast members have made zero effort to repent for their wrongdoings or amend their bad behavior.

Even though many 90 Day Fiancé cast members have been seen behaving badly, viewers appreciate it when they are upfront about their behavior and learn from their actions. While certain cast members have made genuine attempts to better themselves and be educated by viewers about their actions, there are also other cast members who have decided to lash out at viewers and label them “haters.” Such 90 Day stars seldom show growth and instead resort back to the same behavior that they believe they are justified in having.

Unfortunately, the increased spotlight that 90 Day Fiancé gives to many of its cast members has led to some franchise regulars failing to grow and mature. TLC has been called out by angry viewers for continuing to cast problematic cast members despite fan backlash and requests to remove offensive and abusive figures from the franchise. Continuing to be featured on new spin-offs and seasons gives false hope that cast members’ bad behavior is being rewarded. With that said, viewers are mostly just upset with the 90 Day Fiancé stars when they fail to demonstrate any growth on TV.

Angela Deem
Angela Deem has appeared across multiple 90 Day Fiancé shows and is well-recognized by fans. Unfortunately, Angela’s already questionable behavior has continued to rapidly go downhill the longer that she has appeared over the years. Gaining social media followers has led to Angela obsessing over her looks. Her most recent plotline on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? focused far more on her plastic surgery transformation than her marriage to Michael Ilesanmi. While Angela was determined to change her outer looks, she put no effort into fixing her insides. Angela was labeled as abusive by angry viewers for the harsh way she treated Michael, which included furious screaming phone calls and attempting to illegally track her spouse.

Big Ed Brown
Big Ed Brown angered and shocked viewers with his casual cruelty on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days as he was rude and offensive to his younger partner Rosemarie Vega. To the disgust of viewers, Big Ed has only gotten worse since joining the cast of 90 Day: The Single Life. Despite nearing 60, Big Ed remains focused on dating women in their 20s. He pursued American Liz Woods without her consent and made audiences extremely uncomfortable. Then, a leaked phone call Big Ed sent to Liz revealed his shocking verbal abuse. Though Liz took Big Ed back and is planning to marry him, viewers don’t believe that he has changed or shown any remorse for his repeatedly offensive actions.

Darcey Silva
Darcey Silva showcased two failed relationships on Before The 90 Days and now stars alongside her twin sister Stacey on their own spin-off, Darcey & Stacey. Darcey has unfortunately demonstrated no growth when it comes to navigating romance or maturity. Darcey appears to be an emotional mess who is far more focused on her looks than on other important things in her life. Even though some fans have sympathy for Darcey, many are frustrated by how she consistently rushes into relationships and hopes for an immediate engagement. Viewers be happy to see Darcey focus on herself and find stability and happiness more than watching her struggle to date or continue to transform her outer appearance.

David Murphey
David Murphey entered the 90 Day Fiancé franchise as a delusional American man looking to spend his money on a younger woman, and he doesn’t appear to have changed at all since Before The 90 Days. Viewers were stunned by David’s delusions as he continued to give money to a mysterious Ukrainian woman named Lana in an attempt to woo her despite every indication that she was a catfish. After David finally met Lana and they unsurprisingly did not end up together, viewers hoped to see him learn from the experience and walk away wiser. However, David has instead shocked fans by apparently moving on with French woman Amira Lollysa.

Varya Malina
Varya Malina appeared alongside convict Geoffrey Paschel on Before The 90 Days and left viewers frustrated when the duo faced a love triangle with Geoffrey’s on-again, off-again partner Mary Wallace. Then, Varya shocked viewers by declaring she had been with Geoffrey since filming when he went to trial for domestic assault. Geoffrey was found guilty of many serious offenses, but Varya chose to support her rumored husband despite him being a convicted domestic abuser. Fans are still shocked and disappointed to see Varya continue to stand by Geoffrey and attempt to rally support behind him. Varya appears either in denial or indifferent about Geoffrey’s convictions, which is very disappointing to viewers.

Steven Johnston
Steven Johnston became a quick franchise “villain” after he appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The Mormon man insisted that his Russian partner Alina remain a virgin until marriage and abide by the strict and restrictive rules of his church so that she could join his faith. However, Steven revealed his massive double standard when he confessed to making out with about 100 women and going to bed with a number of them, including while he was dating Alina. Viewers were shocked by Steven’s behavior and urged Alina to leave him. Alina married Steven despite the many red flags. In the meantime, Steven revealed his lack of growth at the Tell-All when he admitted to talking to nine women online and once again cheating.

Alina Kozhevnikova
Russian newcomer Alina Kozhevnikova has only just joined Before The 90 Days season 5, but her responses on social media indicate that she shows zero growth or remorse for her offensive actions. Alina has been pressuring her partner Caleb Greenwood into being intimate with her on TV, all while viewers uncovered multiple racist posts Alina shared over the years. Alina has demonstrated that she doesn’t care to take accountability for her actions as she continuously brushed off and downplayed her regular use of the n-word. In response, she claimed that she didn’t know that the racial slur was offensive. As of this writing, Alina is rumored to have been fired from TLC and the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.
