Filming for the next season of 1000-lb Sisters resumed late last month, with cameras and crew spotted filming at the funeral of Tammy Slaton’s late husband Caleb Willingham

Tammy Slaton has hit out at TLC producers for making her late husband’s funeral seem more “depressing” than it was.

The 37-year-old has accused the channel of “forcing drama” at what should have been a very special event. Tammy hosted the intimate gathering near her home in Kentucky and was surrounded by family and friends as she paid her respects to Caleb Willingham.

The reality star’s estranged husband sadly died last month at the age of 40. Caleb died at the Ohio weight loss facility where he had met and married Tammy.

She was recently pictured shedding a tear at Caleb’s funeral, where she sat on the front row alongside her sister Amy Slaton. However, a source has said the ceremony “wasn’t that sad”.

“The filming of the funeral was ‘completely not natural’ and things were put in there to make it seem sad when it really wasn’t that sad. People were having fun, but [TLC producers] made it depressing,” they claimed.

The source also said that Tammy was concerned fans would think she had relapsed because of the way TLC filmed the funeral. Speaking to The Sun, they added: “She isn’t emotionally relapsing or going back on her diet – she’s doing great.”

Caleb’s health had reportedly “continued to get worse” before his death after he reportedly gained 30lb (2.1 stone) while at a food rehabilitation centre. A second source said Tammy is determined to stuck to her diet as she believes it “could have been me” who died.

Speaking to the publication they said: “She didn’t have the drive for a bit and was struggling with alcohol abuse and not caring and I think Caleb had the same mindset of ‘I’ve already done this to myself, I’m already this big’. It’s hard on her because she has experienced it and is of the mindset of, ‘This could have been me’.”

Tammy paid tribute to her ex-husband following his sad passing as she emotionally recalled how he showed her “real love”. “Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness,” Tammy penned on her Instagram page.
